Base Salary
$127k - $183k/yr
Responsibilities
- Execute and accelerate the finance automation roadmap, expanding both the scope of automation and the team’s development practices.
- Build automations and AI agents for accounting, AP, tax, reconciliations, flux analysis, accruals, and tax workflows.
- Shift development toward CLI-driven and agentic workflows and away from manual point-and-click configuration.
- Implement close-management tooling such as Ledge, including NetSuite and data warehouse connections.
- Configure and extend NetSuite, Zip, and the finance systems integration layer, determining where logic should reside.
- Partner with accountants to understand workflows, translate them into automation, and build trust in the resulting systems.
- Make build-versus-buy decisions and collaborate with technology vendors.
- Establish design reviews, monitoring, reliability, and auditability practices for financial systems.
- Provide technical direction and help interview and develop team members.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience.
- Strong understanding of controllership operations, including accounting, AP, tax, and the financial close.
- Hands-on experience building or experimenting with AI agents and automations, preferably AI agents and LLM-based workflows in production with appropriate guardrails and monitoring.
- Ability to configure systems, build integrations, write scripts, and learn unfamiliar tools quickly.
- Ability to define architecture and roadmaps, make build-versus-buy decisions, and operate as a senior individual contributor leading through influence.
- Ability to explain complex technical and financial concepts clearly to accountants, engineers, and CFO-level stakeholders.
- Experience with finance automation tooling and integrations is preferred.
- Experience transitioning from finance, accounting, or consulting into hands-on automation building is preferred.
