Responsibilities
- Define and drive the long-term technical vision for the data protection platform.
- Design and evolve distributed and cloud-native system abstractions and architectures.
- Lead complex, ambiguous technical initiatives from problem definition through production delivery.
- Make architectural decisions balancing correctness, cost, scalability, performance, and operational simplicity.
- Write and review production code and participate in production operations.
- Set technical direction and standards across teams and systems.
- Collaborate with engineering, cloud, quality, product, and customer success teams.
- Mentor senior and junior engineers and help establish durable architectural patterns.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant ownership of complex production systems.
- Experience leading ambiguous, high-impact technical initiatives through production delivery.
- Experience translating business, customer, and operational needs into platform-wide technical strategy and system designs.
- Experience designing distributed or cloud-native systems focused on correctness, operability, and cost efficiency.
- Experience making high-impact architectural decisions and communicating trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of English.
- Preferred: experience as a senior technical owner while remaining hands-on.
- Preferred: experience designing systems spanning multiple services or cloud environments.
- Preferred: familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Preferred: experience in data management, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, or related data protection domains.
- Preferred: experience with reporting, alerting, metering, billing, task orchestration, audit logging, policy management, or AI/ML capabilities.
- Preferred: experience designing secure systems involving authorization, encryption, and sensitive data.
- Preferred: experience mentoring senior engineers and shaping technical direction with engineering and product leadership.
