Responsibilities
- Lead technical improvements to the scalability, quality, accuracy, speed, and efficiency of existing data and ML processes.
- Analyze data to support better business and engineering decisions.
- Design, build, and test tools, libraries, pipelines, and platforms for production experimentation.
- Partner with engineers and product owners to automate large-scale data management, analysis, and ML tasks.
- Own and develop end-to-end systems that enable rapid production experimentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 6+ years in data or ML engineering.
- Expertise designing, writing, and maintaining data pipelines and systems while ensuring data quality.
- Expertise in SQL, Python3, and a JVM-based language such as Java or Scala.
- Expertise in software design, design patterns, best practices, functional programming, and object-oriented programming.
- Familiarity with Python3, Scala Spark, Hadoop, SQL, and S3.
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts, common models, and statistical analysis concepts.
- Preferred qualifications include Hadoop ecosystem and big data architecture experience, Scala/Scala Spark development, Linux systems administration, and experience with test-driven methodologies.
