Base Salary

$120k - $170k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance software systems and features primarily in Go for large-scale video content delivery.
  • Build reliable and testable services supporting VOD, live events, linear channels, dynamic ad insertion, and manifest manipulation.
  • Participate in code reviews and promote high code quality, clear architecture, and healthy engineering practices.
  • Partner with Site Reliability Engineering to design highly available, resilient, performant, and fault-tolerant systems.
  • Use metrics, logs, traces, observability tooling, and performance analytics to identify issues and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Contribute to multi-CDN strategies, routing logic, and content-origin workflows for global streaming performance.
  • Collaborate with distributed engineering teams across the US, UK, EU, and Africa and document technical decisions.
  • Influence technical direction, system architecture, and engineering best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience with hands-on Go development preferred, or Python experience.
  • Experience deploying and operating applications in cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience with containers, orchestration tools, Git-based repositories, automated testing frameworks, and build pipelines.
  • Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering practices including SLIs, SLOs, auto-scaling, distributed-systems reliability, or incident response.
  • Familiarity with Scrum or Kanban development methodologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining design decisions and collaborating with distributed teams.
  • Preferred experience with CDNs such as Akamai, CloudFront, Fastly, or Cloudflare.
  • Preferred understanding of HLS, DASH, manifests, origins, content routing, or streaming media delivery systems.
  • Preferred experience with global-scale systems, multi-region deployments, or high-availability architectures.
