Embedded Software Engineer
Persistent SystemsResponsibilities
- Architect, develop, and implement C/C++ software for embedded Linux hardware platforms.
- Develop low-level software including device drivers, Linux kernel modules, network-stack components, and ports to new embedded platforms.
- Support hardware development and Java-based production hardware test systems on Windows and Linux.
- Develop application software for the Wave Relay® network and integrate systems, sensors, and components.
- Support testing, evaluation, and deployment activities at test locations, military facilities, and customer sites, including travel.
- Write technical proposals and support internal and external engineering activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of experience developing embedded Linux software in C/C++.
- At least 1 year of Java work experience.
- Must hold or be able to obtain a US Security Clearance.
- Preferred: master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred: experience with Linux kernel, kernel module, and Linux driver development, including wireless and network-stack work.
- Preferred: experience with UNIX shell scripting, Android application development, and laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters.
