Responsibilities
- Prototype computer vision and OCR approaches for detecting truck and trailer information at yard gates.
- Build and evaluate training-data pipelines using public datasets and real-world gate imagery.
- Benchmark detection accuracy, document feasibility, and assess deployment on edge hardware such as NVIDIA Jetson.
- Develop backend YMS features for gate workflows, shipment management, dock assignments, and yard inventory tracking.
- Write clean, testable code, participate in code reviews, and improve automation and system integrations.
- Document work clearly and surface blockers while independently ramping up on assigned areas.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field, as a final- or pre-final-year student.
- Solid programming fundamentals in Python, Java, or a similar language.
- Hands-on project or coursework experience involving computer vision, OCR, or machine learning, including academic, personal, or Kaggle work.
- Familiarity with PyTorch or TensorFlow and Python data libraries such as OpenCV and NumPy.
- Ability to learn new technologies independently and communicate clearly in writing.
- Web development experience, Ruby on Rails familiarity, or Rails/web backend experience is preferred.
- Exposure to REST APIs, event-driven systems, database design, or logistics, yard, warehouse, or supply-chain technology is preferred.
