Responsibilities
- Design and build large-scale managed Oracle database services and complex features for AWS RDS.
- Lead architecture and design of distributed database systems optimized for performance, high availability, scalability, and massive concurrency.
- Develop integrations between RDS Oracle, Linux-based systems, and AWS services including EC2, VPC, and IAM.
- Create monitoring, troubleshooting, automation, and database-management solutions for large-scale deployments.
- Engage enterprise customers, gather requirements, provide technical consultations, and translate needs into technical specifications and roadmap items.
- Lead development cycles, design reviews, and technical decision-making while balancing delivery speed, code quality, security, and scalability.
- Integrate AI and ML technologies to improve database performance, security, and usability.
- Ensure solutions meet security and compliance requirements including FedRAMP, GDPR, and HIPAA.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance, documentation, best-practice guides, and whitepapers.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 5 years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- At least 5 years leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience as a mentor, technical lead, or engineering team lead.
- Experience explaining complex technical concepts to business and technical audiences.
- Deep expertise in database systems, distributed systems, storage architecture, or systems programming.
- Preferred experience with the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred experience with AWS or other cloud services, Oracle databases or NoSQL databases, open-source tools, cloud infrastructure, or managed services.
- Preferred bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
