Base Salary
$112k - $154k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and suites for web, mobile, API, service-level, integration, regression, smoke, functional, and end-to-end testing.
- Create automation strategies that improve coverage, reduce manual testing, and increase release confidence.
- Validate APIs, services, databases, third-party integrations, data transformations, event flows, and downstream system impacts.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support quality gates, pipeline validation, environment promotion, and release-readiness decisions.
- Investigate automation, application, data, integration, and environment failures using logs, metrics, traces, monitoring tools, and telemetry.
- Validate behavior under dependency failures, latency, service degradation, recovery, and other realistic production conditions.
- Review requirements, designs, acceptance criteria, and technical changes to identify testing needs and quality risks.
- Coach QA engineers, SDETs, and development teams on test automation, testability, framework usage, and quality engineering practices.
- Support planned production releases and critical off-hours deployments as needed.
Requirements
- At least seven years of experience in software testing, test automation, software development, or quality engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience designing and developing automated tests and test frameworks.
- Programming or scripting experience with one or more languages such as C#, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python.
- Experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, NUnit, xUnit, JUnit, TestNG, SpecFlow, Cucumber, Postman, Newman, or REST Assured.
- Strong experience with API testing, service-level validation, integration testing, and end-to-end workflow validation.
- Strong SQL and data validation experience.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or TeamCity.
- Experience analyzing test failures, troubleshooting complex defects, and improving automation reliability.
- Experience with test management, defect tracking, and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or Confluence.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle practices, agile delivery, release validation, and quality engineering principles.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or a related field.
- Preferred experience in mortgage, financial services, lending, regulated industries, performance, resiliency, security, accessibility, contract testing, observability, distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architectures, complex enterprise integrations, or AI-assisted testing.
