Engineering Tech Lead – Taiwan

- Define and evolve the architecture of the cloud security platform, including data ingestion, processing pipelines, detection services, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
- Lead the technical design and production delivery of complex, cross-team engineering initiatives.
- Design scalable, reliable, secure, and cost-efficient systems for high-volume security telemetry.
- Establish service boundaries, data contracts, API standards, and integration patterns.
- Partner with Detection Engineering, Security Research, and Site Reliability Engineering on production capabilities and operational readiness.
- Evaluate architectural tradeoffs, reduce technical debt and operational complexity, and improve platform health.
- Set standards for system design, code quality, testing, security, documentation, and technical reviews.
- Mentor senior engineers and technical leads and contribute production code, prototypes, design documents, and technical reviews.
- Collaborate with engineering teams across Taiwan, the US, the UK, and Australia.
Requirements
- Significant software engineering experience with technical leadership of large-scale or business-critical systems.
- Strong hands-on experience designing and building cloud-native SaaS platforms, distributed systems, or large-scale data products.
- Deep experience with cloud infrastructure, high-volume ingestion, stream or batch processing, log analysis, distributed pipelines, event-driven architectures, APIs, backend services, and data storage or querying.
- Proven ability to lead ambiguous, multi-team initiatives from architecture through production delivery.
- Strong understanding of reliability, observability, performance, security, and cloud cost management.
- Ability to diagnose complex issues across application, data, and infrastructure layers and influence technical direction without reporting authority.
- Experience mentoring senior engineers and improving engineering practices across an organization.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills and ability to collaborate across regions, time zones, functions, and cultures.
- Preferred experience includes cybersecurity, identity security, threat detection, SIEM, observability, security analytics, high-volume security telemetry, detection engines, machine learning, generative AI, or rapidly scaling engineering organizations.
- Experience working in Taiwan or with distributed APAC teams and Mandarin proficiency are preferred.
