Responsibilities
- Build, scale, and maintain backend services and APIs supporting growth, engagement, and core product functionality.
- Own notification and lifecycle engagement systems, including notification APIs, delivery orchestration, scalability, and client-facing features.
- Design and operate data-driven personalization, targeting, ranking, and user engagement systems.
- Implement service APIs for web clients, mobile clients, and internal systems, including authentication, authorization, versioning, and backward-compatible integrations.
- Build event-driven backend workflows using message queues or streaming platforms for reliable, high-volume asynchronous processing.
- Implement feature flags, A/B tests, and instrumentation to support growth experimentation and measure engagement outcomes.
- Collaborate with product management and frontend/mobile engineering from product concept through production rollout and iteration.
- Translate evolving product and business requirements into technical specifications, system designs, and implementation plans.
- Model, store, and query data in relational and NoSQL datastores, including schema design and query optimization.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve production systems for latency, throughput, correctness, logging, metrics, alerting, and operational health.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible software development experience.
- At least 5 years of experience developing, testing, and maintaining production software using modern programming languages such as Go, JavaScript, and Python.
- At least 5 years of experience designing, developing, and documenting REST and/or RPC service APIs, including authentication, authorization, versioning, and integrations.
- At least 5 years of experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB, including schema design, query optimization, and data modeling.
- At least 5 years of experience building, scaling, and operating high-performance backend services and distributed systems.
- At least 5 years of experience translating ambiguous or evolving product requirements into technical specifications and implementation plans.
- At least 5 years of experience implementing or supporting feature flags, A/B testing, or experimentation frameworks for growth or engagement metrics.
