Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate services for inventory and exposure tracking, hedge decisioning, venue routing, and WAC, PnL, and net revenue calculation.
- Own features end to end from scoping and technical design through delivery, rollout, adoption, and operational health.
- Integrate with external venues and liquidity providers and build resilient smart routing strategies.
- Instrument services with logging, metrics, and alerting, and design for retries, idempotency, reconciliation, and safe recovery.
- Participate in code reviews, design feedback, mentoring, technical-debt planning, on-call, incident response, and post-mortem remediation.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Operations, Trading, treasury, and finance to connect engineering work to exposure, risk, and net revenue.
Requirements
- 4–6 years of experience building and operating production backend systems.
- Professional experience at a trading company, exchange, or brokerage building systems on a live trade, order, or risk path.
- Strong system design, data modeling, API design, distributed-systems, object-oriented programming, and low-level design fundamentals.
- Production engineering experience with observability, debugging complex systems, performance tuning, and incident response.
- Ability to build systems where positions, cost basis, and PnL reconcile accurately, and to solve ambiguous problems with high agency.
- Experience using AI coding tools, working in data-driven environments, and communicating clearly in an async-heavy distributed organization.
- Preferred experience includes hedging, exposure or risk management, multi-venue execution, smart order routing, market making, PnL or position-keeping logic, FX, cross-border payments, market data, order books, or market microstructure.
