Base Salary
$87k - $198k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement cloud security architectures and controls for AWS GovCloud and other cloud-native environments.
- Integrate cybersecurity, authorization, compliance, and DevSecOps practices across infrastructure, applications, data platforms, and CI/CD workflows.
- Develop monitoring strategies, threat detection capabilities, security metrics, and incident response improvements.
- Secure data platforms and workloads, conduct risk management activities, and support information assurance and security requirements.
- Research current environments and recommend tools and capabilities for on-premises, cloud-based, and hybrid resources.
- Work with clients to ensure security standards are met and mentor developing cloud security professionals.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in security engineering, cloud security architecture, or securing large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience designing cloud security controls, monitoring strategies, threat detection capabilities, security metrics, incident response, root-cause analysis, and post-incident improvements.
- Experience securing AWS workloads, including regulated or sensitive cloud environments.
- Experience with data platforms and data security, scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or Go, and Infrastructure-as-Code such as Terraform.
- Experience with SIEM, observability, and monitoring platforms such as Splunk, Elastic, CloudWatch, Prometheus, or OpenTelemetry.
- Experience with containers and orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes and with securing CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native delivery processes.
- Knowledge of cloud security, compliance frameworks, and production security best practices.
- Public Trust eligibility and a bachelor's degree.
- Preferred qualifications include government or financial systems security, Kafka or Confluent, chaos engineering, multi-cloud or hybrid environments, Authority to Operate processes, AWS professional-level certifications, and CISSP certification.
