Responsibilities
- Create and maintain automated tests and scalable test frameworks using modern development techniques.
- Apply automated testing at every application layer inside and outside the continuous delivery pipeline.
- Produce and analyze quality metrics to guide quality engineering decisions.
- Triage test failures and maintain build-pipeline health in collaboration with Development, Product, and DevOps teams.
- Participate in product, test, and infrastructure code reviews.
- Account for deployment, migration, security, and performance throughout the continuous delivery lifecycle.
- Support secure software development goals and may participate in open-source projects on behalf of SAS.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related quantitative field.
- 8+ years of experience developing automated tests.
- Experience in an Agile software development environment.
- Experience designing and implementing tests for web-based microservices, REST interfaces, and the OpenAPI specification.
- Experience with Docker or Kubernetes combined with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud deployments.
- Experience with SQL and Oracle or PostgreSQL.
- Proficiency with source-control practices including branching, code review, and merging.
- Advanced proficiency in one programming language and familiarity with others such as Java, Python, or Go.
- Expertise with at least one test automation framework and familiarity with Playwright or REST Assured.
- Familiarity with SAS Viya, the SAS language, and modern IDEs such as IntelliJ or VSCode.
- Equivalent combinations of related education, training, and experience may be considered.
