Base Salary

$160k - $300k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy data-driven models and algorithms focused on LLMs, NLP, and complex data types
  • Research and iterate on new LLM and NLP techniques
  • Own experiments and proofs of concept that apply research to high-value customer problems
  • Partner with foundation model providers to beta test models, experiment with features, and develop guidance on model strengths
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and software engineers to integrate agentic capabilities into existing systems and new applications
  • Improve NLP and LLM capabilities across the product
  • Build efficient, maintainable, well-monitored systems
  • Iterate on validation and testing frameworks
  • Stay current with advances and research in NLP, machine learning, and LLMs

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Machine Learning, or a related field is a plus
  • 7+ years of software development experience at a venture-backed startup or top technology firm, focused on applied machine learning systems
  • Strong programming skills in Python
  • Experience with NLP and text-processing libraries such as NLTK, spaCy, or Apache Tika
  • Experience with search and indexing technologies
  • Proficiency in machine learning techniques and algorithms
  • Experience working with foundation models and their APIs
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and data-scraping techniques
  • Prior experience developing NLP models and systems
  • Experience with prompting and building LLM applications and agents is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to translate research into production software systems
  • Experience building agentic systems or LLM-enabled products is a bonus
  • Frequent use of AI products during the development lifecycle, including Cursor or Claude Code, is a bonus
