Base Salary
$170k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and own AIM’s shared design system, including component APIs, accessibility, theming, versioning, deprecation, migration tooling, and developer experience.
- Build the safety-critical Operator UI with live 3D scenes, point clouds, terrain meshes, geofences, cut/fill visualization, machine overlays, teleoperation controls, and live video streaming.
- Develop the multi-tenant SaaS administration portal with relationship-based authorization, internationalization, RTL support, and real-time data.
- Write clean, testable, maintainable TypeScript and improve frontend code quality, accessibility, performance, reliability, observability, and developer experience.
- Lead code reviews, design reviews, architectural discussions, root-cause analysis, and elimination of recurring defects.
- Collaborate with TPMs, design, autonomy, controls, hardware, field operations, and FDEs to validate the UI on real machines and customer sites.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and improve testing frameworks, CI/CD, and local development tooling.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Design, HCI, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering production frontend systems.
- Deep expertise in TypeScript and React, including hooks, suspense, and concurrent rendering.
- Experience with 3D web graphics, including Three.js, React Three Fiber, Drei, WebGL, shaders, GLTF pipelines, BVH acceleration, or point-cloud rendering.
- Experience with real-time data and binary serialization such as Protocol Buffers, gRPC-web, WebSockets, or high-frequency web telemetry.
- Experience with modern frontend tooling such as Vite, workspace tooling, Storybook, and modern testing stacks.
- Strong debugging skills using browser devtools, logs, telemetry, metrics, and tracing.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality software independently and in cross-functional teams.
- Preferred experience with whole-stack development, safety-critical or industrial UI, state machines, multi-tenant SaaS authorization, and frontend infrastructure.
- Preferred familiarity with TanStack Router, TanStack Query, Zustand, Tailwind CSS v4, tailwind-variants, Floating UI, Mantine, Visx, Docker, Kubernetes, micro-frontend architecture, OpenTelemetry, and Sentry.
