Responsibilities

Own the user applications across backend, database, frontend, and data model.
Support multiple application versions for different industries, user personas, and languages.
Architect and plan future application capabilities including multilingual support, multiple currencies, international payments, and WCAG compliance.
Evaluate SaaS versus internally developed solutions and make future-proof technology decisions.
Deploy user applications to the company’s cloud platform and manage dependencies.
Own application quality through automated testing, validation, end-to-end testing, API testing, and bug triage.
Lead the Develop and Delivery phases of the 4D process as project lead and architect.
Support product discovery, customer walkthroughs, official releases, and integrations with international customers.
Integrate with internal systems and external platform systems, including data lakes and APIs.

10+ years of experience in product, fullstack, frontend, or backend development roles.
Expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, SQL, APIs, and/or MQTT.
Demonstrated ability to independently deploy user applications and manage their dependencies.
Proven experience shipping complex web or mobile applications at scale on cloud platforms or app stores.
Autonomous experience with end-to-end testing, API testing, and automation.
Proven experience using AI tools in engineering processes with strong judgment about when and how to apply them.
Comfort working with ambiguity, high ownership, and a fast-moving environment.
Preferred experience with SEO and web analytics platforms such as Pendo or PostHog.
Preferred familiarity with map engines such as Mapbox and geospatial data.
Startup experience is preferred.
Strong communication, problem-solving, self-direction, and execution skills are preferred.
Fluency in English and French is preferred.

Canada-based role requiring successful candidates to obtain and hold Reliability Status security clearance and pass Canadian Controlled Goods Program and ITAR security assessments.
The role is part of an early product development team building a platform from the ground up.
