Base Salary
$160k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Act as technical owner for existing and new Prime Equity Finance components.
- Lead and mentor the local New York development team while remaining hands-on.
- Own the agile development process and provide technical and functional leadership.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support robust Java applications and modern software components.
- Conduct code and design reviews and follow global development and change-management standards.
- Collaborate with traders, operations, technology teams, clients, and vendors to develop business solutions.
- Work with global teams across Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Mumbai, London, and New York in a matrix environment.
- Document solutions, processes, discussions, development activity, issues, and postmortems using Confluence and Jira.
- Assist Production Services and traders with issue resolution, follow-ups, and system uptime improvements.
- Contribute to strategic platform development for Global Equities and adapt to changing front-office priorities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics, or a similar field.
- 10–15 years of demonstrable hands-on software development experience.
- At least 7 years of hands-on development experience with Java, C++, C#, Rust, or Python.
- Strong domain knowledge of securities lending, including trade lifecycle, locate and availability management, collateral processing, rate calculation, and funding.
- Knowledge of Equity Synthetics and Equity Trading workflows.
- Strong Java experience including Java 21, Collections, Spring Boot 3, Java Streams API, concurrency, profiling, garbage collection, JDBC, and JMS.
- Strong understanding of relational databases, SQL, stored procedures, and query-plan optimization.
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and in-memory caching such as Redis.
- Experience with messaging and streaming infrastructure and software design principles and patterns.
- Experience deploying microservices to Docker and Kubernetes and understanding of infrastructure tooling and best practices.
- Preferred experience includes React, Redux, WebSockets, CSS, Tailwind, Ag Grid, Kafka, Pulsar, RisingWave, Flink, Kafka Streams, Spark, Apache Camel, AWS, S3, Lambda, GitLab CI/CD, Ansible, Docker, Podman, Bash, Pandas, Plotly, SciPy, KDB, ClickHouse, Snowflake, BPMN, Camunda, and agentic AI development.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal, written communication, status-reporting, initiative, and modern software architecture skills.
