Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and written knowledge-transfer materials.
- Review requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide feedback.
- Implement, test, maintain, and support software based on technical specifications.
- Lead architecture, design, implementation, and code reviews for robust and scalable web services.
- Improve system quality, identify recurring issues, and develop standard operating procedures.
- Maintain existing codebases, review code changes, and identify application-improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders to implement technical designs.
- Investigate and adopt relevant technologies, including AI-native engineering tools and practices.
- Assist customer support with technical problems and questions.
- Mentor less experienced developers and lead work within project contexts.
- Work independently and make technical decisions across levels of abstraction from strategy through implementation.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in Java full-stack development and Java Enterprise Edition.
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 4 years of experience developing systems or software for large business environments.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture principles, preferably implemented in Java.
- Strong experience leading architecture, design, and implementation of robust, highly scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- Understanding of unit, test-driven, functional, and performance testing.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems and data architecture.
- Experience with React is preferred.
- Experience integrating with event buses such as Pulsar and cloud-based big-data solutions such as Snowflake is preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience developing mission-critical, low-latency solutions for large business environments.
- At least 2 years of experience developing and debugging distributed systems and working with cloud-based big-data systems.
- Understanding of software security-enhancing tools and practices, shell scripting, LLMs, automation, engineering toolchains, and AI modernization initiatives.
- Ability to lead technical direction, mentor others, communicate effectively, and drive results across cross-functional teams.
