Responsibilities
- Design and ship real-time embedded firmware in C and C++.
- Develop board- and system-level firmware across multi-processor and multicore platforms using bare-metal development and Zephyr RTOS.
- Integrate real-time control loops with application and control processors.
- Define hardware/software boundaries and lead system bring-up with hardware and power electronics teams.
- Drive end-to-end validation through unit tests, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and prototype testing.
- Collaborate across design verification testing, factory test, and field quality activities.
- At senior levels, own platform architecture, lead technical reviews, mentor engineers, and support hiring.
Requirements
- Staff-level candidates require a BS and 8+ years, an MS and 6+ years, or a PhD and 3+ years of design experience.
- Expert-level C and Modern C++ experience for real-time embedded applications.
- Experience with bare-metal and Zephyr RTOS firmware development.
- Experience developing functional safety firmware.
- Knowledge of ARM Cortex-M/R microcontroller architectures and peripherals including ADC, PWM, UART, I2C, SPI, and CAN.
- Experience ranging from low-level driver development through application development, including hardware bring-up, schematic reading, and datasheet interpretation.
- Experience implementing closed-loop control algorithms on embedded targets.
- Experience debugging and testing systems with oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, and hardware-in-the-loop setups.
- Python scripting experience for test automation and tooling.
- A track record of shipping products from concept through manufacturing and field support.
- Preferred experience includes Docker, GCC, GDB, VS Code, GNU Make, CMake, CI/CD pipelines, Bitbucket Pipelines, GitHub Actions, Embedded Linux, Yocto, BSP, device trees, ARM Cortex-A processors, bootloader design, secure boot, OTA updates, RS485, CAN FD, UWB, Ethernet, Modbus RTU/TCP, power conversion, energy storage, grid-connected equipment, BMS, and UL/IEC power-electronics standards.
- Familiarity with UL1998, IEC60730, IEC61850, and Zephyr RTOS is preferred.

- Base pay is $110,000 to $183,000 per year.
