Responsibilities
- Build, support, refactor, and ship security automation systems, backend services, and web applications.
- Develop security controls, guardrails, frameworks, risk-scoring pipelines, compliance workflows, and agentic risk-assessment capabilities.
- Own critical components from technical design through production delivery and improve their operational excellence.
- Modernize legacy security tools, migrate systems, and build new systems from scratch.
- Integrate first-party and third-party APIs, tools, and services into reliable end-to-end workflows.
- Prepare systems for low-friction, low-maintenance production operation through staged deployments, test environments, automated testing, and observability.
- Mentor engineers and influence technical solutions and engineering practices.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience building, operating, and maintaining production software, including backend services and automation.
- High proficiency in at least one of Python, Go, or Java.
- Experience building production web frontends with TypeScript and React.
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
- Experience maintaining and refactoring legacy production systems, migrating systems, and building new systems from scratch.
- Experience building systems with staged deployments, test environments, automated testing, and observability.
- Experience integrating first-party and third-party APIs, tools, and services into reliable workflows.
- A BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in Software or Security Engineering.
- Preferred: production experience in more than one of Python, Go, or Java.
- Preferred: application and cloud security knowledge, including threat modeling, vulnerabilities, and secure configuration.
- Preferred: experience with SAST/SCA scanners, SBOM tooling, or vulnerability intelligence platforms.
- Preferred: experience building LLM- or agent-based features, tool calling, MCP integrations, or AI output evaluation.
- Preferred: familiarity with AWS resources such as S3, EC2, Lambda, and Step Functions.
- Preferred: experience building batch or streaming data pipelines, Swift or mobile development, and tooling for non-engineer users.
- Preferred: experience mentoring engineers and improving engineering practices.
