Responsibilities
- Design and evolve cloud-native platform components on Kubernetes and AWS.
- Build a self-service observability platform, golden paths, defaults, templates, CLIs, operators, and other abstractions for engineering teams.
- Improve platform stability, performance, cost efficiency, and developer experience by addressing root causes.
- Review existing platform approaches, propose improvements, and compare technical trade-offs.
- Set technical standards and document them through RFCs.
- Collaborate on designs, review proposals, and mentor engineers as a technical reference.
Requirements
- Deep knowledge of Kubernetes and its ecosystem from operating real clusters.
- Production proficiency with AWS, GCP, or Azure, including networking, IAM, cost, and failure modes.
- Strong software engineering skills and experience writing tools that reduce manual work.
- Experience in platform engineering, SRE, or infrastructure in an environment serving multiple engineering teams.
- Production experience with observability using metrics, logs, or traces.
- Ability to evaluate technical options, explain trade-offs, share knowledge, and question assumptions.
- Fluent spoken and written English and Portuguese.
- Prior experience with AWS, Kubernetes, software engineering, and observability practices using open source solutions is mandatory.
- Bonus: experience with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Loki, Tempo, internal tools, CLIs, Kubernetes operators, Crossplane, service meshes, FinOps, or CNCF certifications such as CKA, CKS, CKAD, PCA, or OTCA.
