Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain core Android frameworks and systems powering Ring and Blink apps.
- Lead the architecture and design of Android features and platform components from conception through launch.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor teammates, and promote code quality and engineering best practices.
- Develop and maintain an accessible and consistent Android Design System used by other teams.
- Build and operate AI pipelines and developer tooling that accelerate feature development.
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, and backend teams on user-facing Android features, including data loading, caching, and behavior analysis.
- Write documentation, prototype solutions, and discuss implementation approaches with design and product partners.
Requirements
- Professional, non-internship experience in software development.
- Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience developing Android mobile applications in Kotlin.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Preferred: experience with the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: knowledge of system performance, memory management, and parallel computing principles.
