Responsibilities
- Build, launch, monitor, and support owned products and services in a build-it-and-run-it environment.
- Design and develop efficient, loosely coupled backend services within a distributed and service-oriented architecture.
- Improve existing designs and architecture for quarter-bounded projects and mission-critical squad areas.
- Facilitate discussions around complex technical issues and explore technologies with significant potential impact.
- Contribute to high-impact chaos mitigation and prioritize work that improves delivery.
- Build frontend features independently and consider performance, accessibility, and user experience.
- Collaborate with squad members, Staff engineers, and international engineering teams to share knowledge and align technical direction.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend development experience.
- Strong system design skills and experience with microservices and distributed systems.
- Deep understanding of data architecture and APIs.
- Experience with performance optimization and scalability.
- Solid experience with modern JavaScript frameworks and the ability to independently build frontend features.
- Understanding of state management, routing, and API integration.
- End-to-end product thinking, curiosity across the full stack, and strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity across technical domains and communicate effectively in English.
