Responsibilities
- Develop and ship OS-level software for macOS, iOS, tvOS, watchOS, and visionOS.
- Own the tools, daemons, and frameworks that support Apple’s device diagnostics data pipeline.
- Collaborate with teams across Apple to shape technical decisions and data collection strategy.
- Design and implement privacy-preserving diagnostics and usage data collection systems.
- Optimize software performance under memory, CPU, battery, and network constraints.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of software development experience.
- Understanding of operating systems fundamentals, including process management, memory management, inter-process communication, concurrent programming, and synchronization primitives.
- Understanding of privacy-preserving data collection techniques and security best practices.
- Expert-level experience with C++, Objective-C, or Swift and related development tools.
- Strong object-oriented and systems software design skills.
- Preferred experience designing and building OS-level software, telemetry, analytics, or observability systems.
- Preferred experience with performance optimization in constrained environments.
- Ability to communicate effectively, collaborate across technical and business teams, solve problems, think critically, self-direct, and deliver under tight schedules.
- Familiarity with generative AI coding tools and demonstrated ability to use them for design, code generation, and debugging.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
