Base Salary
$168k - $262k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end design and implementation of HAL and driver software architecture for new chips.
- Define abstractions, interfaces, and design patterns across multiple hardware blocks and chip generations.
- Partner with RTL designers and design verification engineers on hardware/software co-design before tape-out.
- Develop and maintain HAL functionality for PCIe, DDR/HBM memory, DMA, system fabric, interrupt controllers, boot, and firmware.
- Support existing chips through feature additions and bug fixes.
- Set team standards for testing and continuous deployment, including pre-silicon and hardware-in-the-loop flows.
- Drive technical decisions spanning hardware, firmware, and higher-layer system software.
- Mentor and coach engineers, lead design and code reviews, and serve as a technical lead for architecture and engineering practices.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- At least 5 years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- At least 5 years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Experience mentoring, serving as a technical lead, or leading an engineering team.
- Experience with modern C++ programming and object-oriented design.
- Preferred: bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Preferred: knowledge of computer architecture, operating systems, and parallel computing.
- Preferred: experience with hardware/software co-design and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
- Preferred: expertise in one or more of PCIe, HBM, DDR memory, UCIe, DMA engines, and chip boot and reset sequences.
- Preferred: experience defining software architecture across multiple components or teams and developing device drivers, HAL, or other low-level software that directly interacts with hardware.
