Base Salary
$200k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the rearchitecture of the Rolodex central data platform and scale its context graph.
- Improve performance across time-series and vector storage technologies.
- Deliver ontologies, predictable APIs, SDKs, local development tooling, and support for AI agent workflows.
- Evolve the centralized permissioning system into an intuitive developer experience.
- Design and optimize query abstractions, indexing, SQL, GraphQL, and workload routing.
- Establish shared platform patterns for schemas, data modeling, chunked uploads, and pipelines.
- Write Terraform and build self-service cloud infrastructure tooling on Gecko’s cloud footprint.
- Automate engineering workflows and reduce operational toil while improving resilience.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on software development experience in a production environment.
- Expertise in clean, maintainable backend infrastructure, database, or developer-tooling code.
- Experience designing secure, user-friendly APIs for intuitive data interaction.
- Exceptional communication skills and a strong focus on Developer Experience.
- Ability to own long-lived technical projects, coordinate across teams, and contribute to architectural decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred experience building, maintaining, or scaling central datastores, knowledge graphs, or shared data platforms.
- Preferred experience with Infrastructure as Code and cloud deployments in GCP or AWS.
- Familiarity with complex authorization and permissioning systems.
- Strong judgment around data modeling, storage formats, access patterns, and developer ergonomics.
- Understanding of data pipelines and data processing infrastructure.
- Strong problem-solving skills, intellectual curiosity, self-motivation, and willingness to learn new technologies.
