Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery of complex application development features, including requirements analysis, technical specifications, design, coding, estimation, risk assessment, and implementation planning.
- Build, test, deploy, monitor, and provide L3 support for Java application services and system enhancements.
- Develop unit, integration, and contract tests; participate in code reviews; and uphold coding, testing, architecture, and secure development standards.
- Identify and remediate performance bottlenecks across Java services and database queries.
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers on design patterns, frameworks, debugging, and coding practices.
- Collaborate with technical leads, Scrum Masters, product owners, business analysts, and QA engineers.
- Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities using Snyk, Checkmarx, and SonarQube while following corporate governance and secure SDLC policies.
- Provide technical guidance on application functionality, integrations, and core capabilities to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or university degree in a relevant area, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering and systems analysis experience in enterprise Java applications.
- Proven experience as a senior individual contributor delivering complex features and modules from requirements through production deployment.
- In-depth knowledge of Core Java, including concurrency, multithreading, collections, and memory management.
- Strong experience with Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, and Spring Integration.
- Working experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, React.js, SQL, Oracle 19c, and MongoDB.
- Hands-on experience with automated testing and CI/CD build and deployment pipelines using Docker, OpenShift, Jenkins, or GitHub.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with globally distributed teams.
- Experience with systems analysis, application programming, and successful project implementation.
- Working knowledge of consulting or project management techniques and methods.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, interpretive, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical solutions to cross-functional partners.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines and changing requirements, and demonstrate resilience and accountability.
- Financial services, banking, capital markets, or securities services experience is desirable.
- Familiarity with SWIFT ISO 15022/20022, FIX, sFTP, or NDM is desirable.
