Responsibilities
- Create and configure production and non-production cloud environments using platform automation tools.
- Design, develop, and enhance scalable Go backend services and RESTful and gRPC APIs.
- Integrate applications with AWS compute, storage, database, messaging, streaming, monitoring, and identity services.
- Define API contracts, data models, concurrency models, caching strategies, and resiliency patterns.
- Lead feature delivery from design through deployment and production stabilization.
- Develop and maintain unit, integration, and regression test suites.
- Participate in code reviews, CI/CD processes, release activities, deployment validation, and rollback procedures.
- Analyze production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and resolve performance issues.
- Provide technical guidance, effort estimates, risk assessments, and mentorship to developers.
- Collaborate with architects, product teams, stakeholders, and participate in on-call production support.
Requirements
- At least 9 years of relevant experience in Go and AWS cloud development; the posting also states a minimum of 7.5 years and 18 years of total experience.
- Strong Go programming experience, including interfaces, structures, slices, maps, goroutines, channels, context propagation, error handling, and Go modules.
- Experience building RESTful and gRPC APIs and implementing microservices architectures.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS, AWS Fargate, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora, Amazon S3, Amazon SQS, Amazon SNS, Amazon EventBridge, Amazon Kinesis, Amazon API Gateway, Amazon CloudWatch, and AWS IAM.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, Go testing, mocking, benchmarking, profiling, race detection, Git, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code.
- Experience with blue-green and canary deployments, distributed application troubleshooting, production incident management, and technical reviews.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Preferred experience includes OTT, streaming, broadcast, or digital media platforms; HLS, DASH, DRM, Widevine, PlayReady, FairPlay, CDN, SSAI, video-on-demand, AWS Elemental services, CloudFront, Kafka, Step Functions, Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Kubernetes, Redis, ElastiCache, Grafana, Datadog, Elastic Stack, Splunk, OpenTelemetry, ServiceNow, and Jira Service Management.
- AWS Developer Associate or AWS Solutions Architect certification and experience with managed services and SLA-driven environments are preferred.
