Sr SW engineer- AI/ML
GE VernovaResponsibilities
- Identify and deliver reusable AI components for forward-deployed engineers.
- Design and ship resilient microservices and REST APIs.
- Build RAG and multimodal LLM features.
- Design agentic workflows for autonomous tasks.
- Lead technical architecture and make end-to-end decisions balancing reliability, performance, and cloud cost.
- Mentor engineers and provide guidance to contractors, vendors, and globally distributed teams.
- Drive AI and ML engagement across at least five projects.
- Provide technical oversight, code review, and quality assurance guidance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience with Python, Java, or Go, plus JavaScript or TypeScript front-end experience.
- Proven experience shipping production applications incorporating LLMs or AI services at scale.
- Experience leading technical teams and guiding external contractors or vendors.
- Strong experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and advanced containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with technical oversight, code review processes, and quality assurance methodologies.
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills, including experience working with globally distributed teams.
- Preferred: AI/ML architectural design, technical leadership, and system optimization experience.
- Preferred: a master’s degree or equivalent in AI.
- Preferred: experience with SOAP, MuleSoft, advanced state management, vector databases, embedding model optimization, multiple LLM providers, LangChain, LlamaIndex, enterprise RAG, semantic search, conversation memory, and AI features serving 100k+ users.
