- Drive approximately one-second latency from aircraft transmission to operator display.
- Design fault-tolerant systems that withstand network failures, crashed services, and cloud-region outages without putting the aircraft at risk.
- Select and operate database technologies, including time-series databases, for flight telemetry.
- Build tools for monitoring aircraft health and commanding the plane.
- Collaborate with flight software and other engineering disciplines to define aircraft-to-ground interfaces.

- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Experience building real-time data or telemetry ingestion and processing systems.
- Experience implementing cloud stacks that ingest data, store it in a database, process it, and serve an application.
- Hands-on experience with time-series databases and understanding of database and data-ingestion trade-offs.
- Experience designing low-latency, high-reliability systems with fault tolerance for network and service failures.
- Proficiency with languages, frameworks, and API design used to expose database data to applications.
- Broad full-stack experience with greatest depth in backend and cloud systems.
- Front-end experience building web applications that query servers and render live data is a plus.
- Experience with telemetry from aircraft, launch vehicles, satellites, autonomous vehicles, or connected vehicle fleets; radio links; or mission-control and observability tooling is a plus.
