Base Salary
$130k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Partner with product teams on high-impact projects to solve performance challenges.
- Investigate major incidents to identify architectural causes and drive improvements.
- Design and promote reusable resilience patterns and tooling for engineers.
- Own and advance the observability strategy and tools for system health.
- Mentor and coach engineers to enhance performance and reliability standards.
- Establish an Operational Excellence review process for accountability and learning.
- Define and measure SLOs for critical user journeys to improve product reliability.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering with complex production systems.
- Experience in performance, scalability, or observability is a plus.
- Strong mentoring skills and ability to explain complex technical ideas clearly.
- Deep expertise in observability pillars: metrics, logs, and traces.
- Ability to build trust and influence teams without direct authority.
- Proficient in creating robust libraries and tools for engineers.
- Initiative-driven, comfortable with ambiguity, and effective in evolving environments.
