Base Salary
$130k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Partner with product teams on high-impact performance and observability projects.
- Investigate major incidents, identify architectural causes, and drive systemic improvements.
- Design and build reusable resilience patterns and tooling for reliable services.
- Own and advance the observability strategy, standards, and supporting tools.
- Mentor and coach engineers across the organization.
- Establish and drive an Operational Excellence review process.
- Define and measure SLOs for critical user journeys.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience building and shipping complex production systems.
- Deep expertise in metrics, logs, and traces and experience instrumenting complex distributed systems.
- Ability to build robust, well-tested libraries and tools for other engineers.
- Experience in performance, scalability, or observability is a significant plus but not required.
- Ability to mentor engineers, explain complex technical ideas clearly, build trust, and influence teams without direct authority.
- Comfort with ambiguity, initiative, and the ability to drive projects in a new and evolving environment.
