Responsibilities

  • Support Frontier Engineering practice managers and directors as a primary technical resource throughout services sales cycles.
  • Lead technical discovery sessions, solution design workshops, architecture reviews, and proof-of-concepts to validate customer requirements and accelerate deal closure.
  • Design end-to-end, deliverable solution architectures based on Snowflake platform capabilities.
  • Prepare technical scoping deliverables including solution architecture, effort estimates, resource plans, risk assessments, and SOW inputs.
  • Build trusted-advisor relationships with customer technical stakeholders including directors, VPs, CTOs, and CDOs.
  • Improve services deal quality and win rates through competitive positioning, technical objection handling, value clarification, and identification of expansion opportunities.
  • Participate selectively in customer engagements, short architecture validation sprints, and executive checkpoint sessions.
  • Create reusable solution patterns, reference architectures, sales materials, and enablement content.
  • Coach practice managers on technical positioning and technical architects on customer-facing communication.
  • Provide structured feedback to product management and engineering on customer requirements, competitive gaps, and emerging market needs.

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience in customer-facing technical roles spanning presales or postsales consulting, solution architecture, or technical advisory work.
  • Experience operating at the intersection of sales and delivery while performing technical project work to support pursuits.
  • Track record designing and proposing enterprise-scale data platform solutions to technical and executive audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience with Japanese business sales cycles, including requirements gathering, pre-RFP sales activity, and formal RFP processes and responses.
  • Practical proficiency with SQL and Python in data analytics, data engineering, or AI/ML solution development contexts.
  • Deep understanding of at least one major public cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with Frontier Engineering scoping, including effort estimation, solution architecture documentation, and SOW creation.
  • Deep understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT patterns, data governance, and modern data architecture patterns.
  • Strong presentation skills across whiteboard talks, formal pitches, and live demonstrations.
  • Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience with partner ecosystems, including collaboration with systems integrators.
  • University degree in computer science, engineering, data science, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Native-level Japanese and business-level English proficiency.
  • Flexibility to travel for onsite customer visits as needed.
  • Preferred qualifications include Snowflake or equivalent cloud data platform experience, SnowPro Core or Advanced certification, cloud-vendor Frontier Engineering experience, relevant industry expertise, familiarity with AI/ML lifecycles and MLOps, data migration and legacy modernization experience, and AWS, Google, or Microsoft cloud certifications.
