Base Salary
$120k - $261k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build realistic enterprise environments across Azure, AWS, GCP, on-premises infrastructure, and third-party services.
- Connect applications, networks, identities, services, realistic user activity, and security telemetry.
- Create reusable infrastructure, images, and self-service automation for provisioning, validation, resetting, and retiring complete environments.
- Deliver interfaces for agent actions, observations, and evidence collection for AI training and evaluation.
- Support concurrent experiments with isolation, synthetic data, health checks, recovery, and cost controls.
- Own platform capabilities from technical design through deployment and operational support.
- Partner with security researchers and AI engineers, resolve cross-stack challenges, and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- Doctorate in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Security, or a related field; or a master's degree in one of these fields plus 3+ years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in one of these fields plus 4+ years of relevant experience; equivalent experience is accepted.
- Ability to pass Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- At least 3 years of experience developing software, infrastructure automation, or cloud platforms.
- Experience shipping and maintaining software or automation in Python, Go, C#, or TypeScript with version control, automated tests, and code review.
- Experience deploying applications and configuring networks, identities, and storage in Azure, AWS, or GCP, and connecting services across a second cloud or on-premises environment.
- Experience building infrastructure-as-code modules and CI/CD deployment pipelines using Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation, or equivalent tools.
- Experience diagnosing Windows or Linux application failures involving DNS, routing, authentication, or service dependencies using logs, metrics, and system tools.
- Experience owning platform capabilities through technical design, deployment, operational support, documentation, and production issue resolution.
- Experience configuring identity federation, certificate-based authentication, or workload identities using Active Directory, Entra ID, Okta, or another enterprise identity provider.
- Experience building security labs or environment-as-a-service platforms with automated image creation, provisioning, baseline reset, and teardown.
- Experience deploying Kubernetes workloads with network policies, service identities, and centralized logging.
- Experience automating synthetic user or administrator activity and collecting identity, endpoint, or application telemetry for security testing.
- Experience integrating versioned environments into reinforcement-learning training or agent-evaluation pipelines, including configuration-drift and leftover-state checks.
- Experience designing and building capture-the-flag challenges or competitions.
- Preferred qualifications include a doctorate with 3+ years, a master's degree with 6+ years, or a bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience.
