Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate mission-critical software services for autonomous mining products.
- Define and deliver features across distributed services for machine coordination, equipment management, navigation planning, collision detection, and safeguarding.
- Develop unit, integration, contract, and system-level automated tests and integrate them into delivery pipelines.
- Instrument and monitor services, troubleshoot production systems, and apply operational excellence practices.
- Partner with product, hardware, and operations teams and contribute to scalable architecture and technical decisions.
- Mentor junior engineers and support software quality and reliability for mine sites worldwide.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software/Systems Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 2 years of professional software development experience building and delivering complex software systems to customers.
- Strong programming skills and proficiency with object-oriented design patterns and clean-code practices.
- Experience with REST APIs and the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, automated testing, and production operations.
- Hands-on experience developing automated tests at unit, integration, contract, and system levels and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to instrument and monitor services, troubleshoot production systems, and apply security and data privacy best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and influence technical decisions.
- Preferred experience with event-driven microservices, cloud-native deployment patterns, containerization, network protocols, distributed application debugging, and performance analysis.
