Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate mission-critical software services for autonomous mining products.
  • Deliver small features across distributed services for machine coordination, equipment management, navigation planning, collision detection, and safeguarding.
  • Collaborate with product, hardware, and operations teams to deliver software for mine sites worldwide.
  • Develop automated unit, integration, contract, and system tests and integrate them into delivery pipelines.
  • Instrument and monitor services, troubleshoot production systems, and improve operational excellence.
  • Mentor junior engineers and influence technical decisions, architecture, quality, and scalability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software/Systems Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of professional software development experience building and delivering complex software systems to customers.
  • Strong programming skills and proficiency with object-oriented design patterns and clean-code practices.
  • Experience with REST APIs and the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, automated testing, and production operations.
  • Hands-on experience developing automated tests at unit, integration, contract, and system levels and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to instrument and monitor services and apply operational excellence practices to troubleshoot and improve production systems.
  • Understanding of security and data privacy best practices and their application in system design and implementation.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and influence technical decisions.
  • Preferred experience with event-driven microservices, cloud-native deployment patterns, containerization, network protocols, distributed application debugging, and performance analysis.
