Responsibilities
- Translate backlog items into solutions and guide the development of new and existing products.
- Participate in all sprint events and take a leading role where needed.
- Share responsibility for the sprint backlog and delivery outcomes with the team.
- Mentor more junior engineers.
- Conduct peer code reviews and maintain broader code quality.
- Identify improvement opportunities and agree on actionable improvements.
- Support the resolution of Severity 1 and 2 application incidents between 7am and 10pm local time on local working days, and provide retrospective feedback.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience mentoring junior engineers.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional qualification or experience.
- Strong hands-on technical skills across some or all of the listed Microsoft Stack and related technologies.
- Experience with PHP, Microsoft Azure, JavaScript or TypeScript, React preferably, MySQL, PHPUnit, Elasticsearch, Git, XML, and JSON.
- Up-to-date understanding of technologies and the ability to learn new languages and technologies quickly.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and the complete product lifecycle from inception to delivery.
- Good understanding of software architecture, software issues, design, data, and databases.
- Proven ability to work as part of a team to deliver software solutions meeting customer needs.
- Experience with code reviews and coding standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, an analytical mindset, and a thorough approach to identifying user and business solutions.
