Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product and Design teams to build, test, and ship modern web applications.
- Define end-to-end solutions and identify opportunities to improve existing systems.
- Write maintainable Java and Spring Boot code, scalable data models, SQL queries, RESTful APIs, and comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
- Participate in code reviews, pair programming, technical design discussions, and software architecture definition.
- Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize systems for speed and scalability.
- Follow coding standards and build deployment scripts.
- Suggest improvements to user interfaces, software architecture, development processes, and technology adoption.
Requirements
- Fluency in Java and Spring Boot or similar J2EE frameworks.
- At least 4 years of experience developing in Java Spring or similar J2EE frameworks.
- 4–6 years of experience developing customer-facing web applications.
- Experience building scalable data models and complex relational database queries using SQL.
- Experience with at least one cloud platform, preferably AWS.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, best practices, RESTful API principles, and security best practices.
- Strong experience with unit testing and end-to-end testing.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related engineering field.
- Front-end experience with JavaScript, React, Angular, Backbone, HTML, and CSS is preferred.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS services is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with comfort working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Experience using AI-assisted delivery tools such as Copilot, Amazon Q, or Claude.
