Responsibilities
- Shape the strategic direction of machine learning infrastructure and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Design, deploy, maintain, and optimize scalable machine learning models and services in production.
- Architect and oversee complex machine learning pipelines supporting real-time and batch inference.
- Collaborate with Data Scientists on model deployment, optimization, and production readiness.
- Mentor mid-level Machine Learning Engineers, provide technical leadership, and conduct code reviews.
- Lead the integration of new technologies and tools into the machine learning infrastructure.
- Communicate machine learning concepts and proposed initiatives to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- Expert-level proficiency with cloud technologies, ideally AWS, and extensive experience with containerization and orchestration, preferably Kubernetes.
- Deep understanding of software development, DevOps, and MLOps best practices applied in production.
- Extensive experience designing, deploying, and maintaining scalable models and services in production environments.
- Strong understanding of machine learning and the ability to collaborate deeply with Data Scientists.
- Experience with MLflow for experiment tracking and model management.
- Experience with Airflow or Dagster for end-to-end ML pipeline and workflow orchestration.
- Significant experience with Data Engineering, Kafka, and stream processing.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL; additional programming languages are a strong plus.
- Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
