Responsibilities

  • Maintain Perl, Ruby, and Shell scripts for solution deployment, configuration, backups, restores, high availability, and administrative tasks.
  • Migrate administrative scripts from Perl to Python or Ruby.
  • Manage operating system and software updates, system hardening, and compliance with industry frameworks.
  • Build and manage Rocky Linux kickstarts for installing the solution.
  • Administer Jenkins CI/CD pipelines and build automation processes.
  • Automate PostgreSQL backups, restores, deployments, and upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot operating system, configuration, authentication, and software issues to support customers.
  • Maintain on-premises infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers, storage, networking systems, and server room equipment.
  • Help transition the solution to containers and mentor other team members.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of scripting experience, including Bash and one or more of Perl, Python, or Ruby.
  • Detailed knowledge of Linux operating systems, including Rocky Linux or Red Hat, RPM packaging and deployment, operating system configuration, tuning, and hardening.
  • Experience creating kickstarts or similar system installation technologies.
  • Ability to design and implement Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to troubleshoot operating system issues, configuration problems, authentication errors, and related software defects.
  • Graduate of a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar program.
  • Knowledge or experience with Docker, Kubernetes, networking, virtualization, LDAP, Active Directory, cryptography and certificates, or PostgreSQL database management is advantageous.
  • Ability to lead a small team is advantageous.
  • Must use only company-approved AI tools and follow the documented company AI usage policy.
