Responsibilities
- Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain Java backend services, including Spring and Spring Boot applications.
- Design, build, version, document, and integration-test RESTful APIs using contract-first practices.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain cloud-native applications on GCP.
- Implement serverless and container-based solutions using Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, and GKE.
- Build and maintain APIs using Apigee or GCP API Gateway.
- Participate in incidents, problems, change management, production support, and scheduled on-call rotation.
- Diagnose complex performance, availability, integration, database, middleware, and network problems.
- Use monitoring tools and log files to evaluate application health and identify root causes.
- Collaborate with onsite and offshore teams to deliver code, design documentation, testing artifacts, and other technical deliverables.
- Apply enterprise coding, testing, DevSecOps, and security standards.
- Assist with hardware or software problems and support less experienced staff through training or guidance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- At least 1 year of related experience, or successful completion of Huntington’s Technical Youth training or part of its apprenticeship training program in lieu of related experience.
- Preferred: 3+ years developing and supporting cloud-native applications on GCP.
- Preferred: 3+ years of experience with GCP, AWS, and/or Azure, Infrastructure as Code automation, and coding or scripting.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and GCP.
- Experience building and supporting secure RESTful APIs and asynchronous, event-driven integrations; OAuth2/OIDC experience is preferred.
- Experience with Terraform, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Git, cloud security, IAM, Terraform Validator, OPA, or Rego.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale payment or financial systems and knowledge of payment processing concepts.
- Experience with Dynatrace, Zenoss, Splunk, or similar monitoring tools.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, interpersonal, customer service, and collaboration skills.
- Card product and processing, expense management, or financial services experience is preferred.
- Exposure to AI-assisted development or automation tools is preferred.
