Responsibilities
- Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain Java backend services, including Spring Boot applications.
- Design, build, version, document, and test RESTful APIs for the payments ecosystem.
- Design and maintain cloud-native applications on GCP using serverless and container-based services.
- Implement APIs using Apigee or GCP API Gateway.
- Support event-driven payment processing and asynchronous integrations.
- Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Provide production support, including scheduled on-call coverage and troubleshooting of complex application, database, middleware, network, performance, and availability issues.
- Collaborate with architects, business analysts, technical specialists, business stakeholders, vendors, and onsite/offshore teams.
- Deliver code, design documentation, testing artifacts, and other technical deliverables in accordance with enterprise standards.
- Use DevSecOps tools and processes and follow prescribed coding, testing, security, and quality guidelines.
- Assist with training less experienced staff and identifying training needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- At least 1 year of related experience, or successful completion of Huntington’s Technical Youth training or part of its apprenticeship training program in lieu of related experience.
- Preferred 3+ years of hands-on experience developing and supporting cloud-native applications on GCP.
- Preferred 3+ years of experience with GCP, AWS, and/or Azure, infrastructure automation, Terraform, and coding or scripting.
- Strong Java and Spring/Spring Boot development skills.
- Experience building and supporting secure RESTful APIs and asynchronous, event-driven integrations; OAuth2/OIDC experience is preferred.
- Experience with cloud platforms, infrastructure as code, Azure DevOps, Git, cloud security, IAM, and policy validation tools such as Terraform Validator, OPA, or Rego.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale payment or financial systems and knowledge of payment processing concepts such as ACH, checks, cards, Zelle, and bill pay.
- Experience using Dynatrace, Zenoss, Splunk, and log files to evaluate production application health and identify root causes.
- Exposure to AI-assisted development or automation tools.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, interpersonal, customer service, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Card product and processing, expense management, or financial services industry experience is preferred.
