Responsibilities

  • Lead software engineering projects and develop secure, modular, functional, and testable software.
  • Manage cloud architecture and investigate technologies to evolve the platform.
  • Lead system development, maintenance, production incident management, root-cause analysis, and permanent remediation.
  • Create technical strategies, architecture proposals, and implementation plans for solution gaps.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical partners, and Technical Project Managers on scope, value, risks, and implementation processes.
  • Ensure unit, system/integration, and performance testing; conduct requirements, architecture, design, code, and security reviews.
  • Improve engineering standards, process efficiency, software maintenance, operational, and runtime characteristics.
  • Mentor and guide team members throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Ensure documentation and audit/compliance requirements are incorporated into the development lifecycle.
  • Advocate engineering principles externally and provide input to junior employees’ performance appraisals.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of software engineering concepts and methodologies.
  • Experience with object-oriented design and programming, Java, Spring, Spring Boot, microservices, REST API development, JPA, Hibernate, RDBMS, Oracle, and JDBC.
  • Knowledge of Pivotal Cloud Foundry or another cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is preferred.
  • Experience delivering secure solutions in the financial services sector is preferred.
  • Experience with front-end technologies such as React JS or Angular is an added advantage.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to learn and implement new technologies, frameworks, and tools while supporting multiple concurrent activities.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-changing environment.
