Responsibilities
- Technically lead projects through requirements understanding, estimation, design, development, acceptance testing, and other stages of the project life cycle.
- Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and customers on high-level and low-level designs.
- Develop critical components and proof-of-concepts for new or unfamiliar use cases.
- Conduct code reviews, maintain overall code quality, and coach and mentor less experienced team members.
- Write and review design documentation and perform source-control operations including branching, merging, tagging, and conflict resolution.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, improve existing solutions, participate in process improvement, and support knowledge sharing.
- Follow organizational security policies and protect the confidentiality and integrity of Mastercard information and networks.
Requirements
- Expert hands-on experience with core Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring IoC, Spring AOP, Spring Security, SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, JSON, SOAP, Kafka, and Zookeeper.
- Hands-on experience developing microservice applications and deploying them to Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure.
- Experience using Eclipse or MyEclipse, UML tools, Microsoft Visio, and PlantUML.
- Experience writing JUnit test cases and working with Maven, Ant, Gradle, and Git.
- Experience with Agile methodologies, design patterns, enterprise security concepts, and security protocols including authentication, authorization, and confidentiality.
- Strong logical, analytical, and design skills, with the ability to communicate ideas clearly in written and spoken English.
- Desirable experience in payment applications, Mockito, JBehave, Jenkins, Bamboo, Confluence, Rally, GitHub Copilot, Claude, or Cursor.
- Desirable experience reviewing AI-generated output for functional correctness and coding standards.
