Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain hundreds of MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.
- Architect and maintain high-availability database solutions.
- Upgrade database engines and infrastructure with minimal downtime.
- Provision new database instances using Infrastructure-as-Code pipelines.
- Plan and execute database migrations with validation and rollback strategies.
- Design and manage backup and restore strategies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues.
- Mentor and train junior and mid-level team members.
Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL in high-availability environments.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform and Ansible.
- Deep expertise in AWS and GCP cloud services.
- Experience with database performance tools like Percona toolkit and PgBadger.
- Extensive experience with AI-powered tools for database operations.
- Comprehensive DB operations experience including schema design and migrations.
- Monitoring and observability skills with Prometheus/Grafana and Amazon CloudWatch.
- Solid understanding of database security best practices.
