Base Salary

$79k - $127k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test plans for vehicle control subsystem software and electronic systems.
  • Design, maintain, and improve HIL infrastructure using dSPACE, NI, Vector, and ETAS platforms.
  • Develop plant and subsystem simulations representing physical systems controlled by ECUs.
  • Integrate production or prototype ECUs and controllers into HIL test benches and validate hardware/software interfaces.
  • Capture synchronized network, I/O, diagnostic, and internal software data.
  • Execute automated regression testing and support continuous integration and continuous testing workflows.
  • Conduct testing across simulation and real-world use cases to evaluate performance, safety, and reliability.
  • Write and peer review maintainable test scripts and software.
  • Participate in peer reviews, estimation, technical proposals, reports, presentations, and other engineering activities.
  • Provide guidance or mentorship to entry-level engineers, designers, or technicians.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, customers, and external technical resources.
  • Travel off-site as needed to support engineering projects.

Requirements

  • Accredited bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Three or more years of related experience.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Experience with embedded communication protocols such as CAN and J1939 in automotive, commercial vehicle, off-highway, industrial, or similar systems.
  • Knowledge of functional safety, cybersecurity, or safety-critical embedded development practices.
  • Experience testing complex vehicle, mobile equipment, electrification, powertrain, hydraulic, or distributed control systems.
  • Ability to write and peer review high-quality, maintainable test scripts.
  • Preferred education includes a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Familiarity with HIL platforms such as dSPACE, NI, Vector, and ETAS.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively and travel off-site when required.
