Base Salary
$168k - $280k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build distributed processing engines, distributed databases, data platforms, data lakes, and scalable data ingestion systems.
- Develop high-quality, testable, and performant backend software using technologies such as Python, MongoDB, CDC, and Kafka.
- Work with big data technologies including Aurora, Trino, Presto, Pinot, Iceberg, and Flink.
- Build custom programming languages within the Rippling Platform.
- Design, develop, code, test, and improve software systems, products, and user-facing experiences.
- Collaborate with software architects and senior developers on product design, implementation, and state-of-the-art development work.
- Develop solutions from the idea phase through production and mentor less-experienced developers.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in backend engineering roles.
- Experience writing testable and performant backend code.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience mentoring less-experienced developers.
- Ability to work autonomously and explore creative solutions.
