
Firmware Engineer, Manufacturing Test

Responsibilities
- Build firmware and software platforms for host/client verification of product form, fit, and function.
- Develop low-level firmware for microcontrollers interfacing with robots and control algorithms for data-acquisition tools.
- Create device-side validation capabilities using SSH and gRPC and develop or leverage debugging tools.
- Debug issues spanning electrical, firmware, and software boundaries and convert solutions into automated tests and production failure-analysis procedures.
- Participate in DFT and DFM reviews with electrical engineering and product firmware teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong C programming ability for embedded systems.
- Experience integrating microcontrollers with analog and digital sensors.
- Experience developing firmware in bare-metal, RTOS, and embedded Linux environments.
- Understanding of coding best practices, board bring-up, and debugging.
- Familiarity with USB, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS232, RS485, Ethernet, or similar bus protocols.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
- Preferred qualifications include new-design bring-up and debugging, low- and high-speed interface experience, data acquisition and analysis fundamentals, microcontroller experience with ARM, AVR, MSP430, or PIC, embedded Linux deployment, and debugging with JTAG, SWD, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
