Base Salary
$180k - $255k/yr
Responsibilities
- Deploy alongside operational users and translate mission friction into technically executable software solutions.
- Write production-grade code, integration scripts, schema transformations, and API integrations while debugging systems in restricted customer environments.
- Integrate Onebrief Core and Atom Engine with partner C2 systems, databases, and military data structures.
- Identify recurring field workarounds and collaborate with Product and Core Engineering to turn them into reusable platform capabilities.
- Isolate failure domains, analyze logs and environmental states, and package escalations with reproduction steps and root-cause hypotheses.
- Brief engineers, military leaders, and command staff on distributed software architecture and operational impact.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of progressive software engineering, solutions engineering, or field software engineering experience involving hands-on development.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, C#, TypeScript, or Go, along with REST/gRPC APIs, relational databases, data modeling, JSON/XML schemas, microservices, and cloud or edge infrastructure.
- Ability to parse application logs, diagnose network or authentication failures across multiple systems, and isolate root causes.
- Strong ability to explain technical trade-offs, lead interactive working sessions, and communicate with non-technical stakeholders during operationally urgent situations.
- Active Secret clearance is required.
- Preferred qualifications include Forward Deployed or Field Software Engineering experience, air-gapped DoD or classified-environment experience, DoD software delivery or military systems experience, and active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Experience using modern AI-assisted development tools for integrations, scripting, and data transformations is preferred.
