Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain reliable, reusable, testable backend code for core platform services.
- Design and optimize PostgreSQL-backed data models and queries for large-scale distributed applications.
- Manage production PostgreSQL clusters, including performance tuning, monitoring, backup and restore, high availability, troubleshooting, query profiling, lock analysis, and capacity planning.
- Own engineering initiatives and improve scalability, resilience, reliability, and code quality.
- Participate in requirements, design, coding, test automation, debugging, code reviews, and engineering best-practice activities.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and support production deployments.
- Collaborate with product managers, solution architects, security engineering, global engineering teams, and external partners.
Requirements
- 2-10 years of experience in software engineering.
- Strong proficiency with PostgreSQL, including indexing, partitioning, replication, query optimization, performance tuning, monitoring, backup and restore, and high availability.
- High proficiency and experience with Unix/Linux platforms.
- Strong working experience with Python, Docker, and Terraform/IAC.
- Understanding of software architecture and high-performance, scalable distributed systems.
- Knowledge of application architecture, networking, security, reliability, and scalability concepts.
- Strong DevOps experience, including building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with distributed global teams.
- Preferred experience with Redis, Kafka, OpenSearch, Linux file systems, memory, multi-threading, large-scale production deployments, AWS cloud solutions, MSK, Aurora, and infrastructure technologies across operating systems, networks, databases, servers, and storage.
