Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain reliable, reusable, testable backend code and core platform services.
- Design and optimize PostgreSQL-backed data models and queries for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Manage production PostgreSQL clusters, including indexing, partitioning, replication, monitoring, backup and restore, high availability, query profiling, lock analysis, and capacity planning.
- Troubleshoot performance, code-quality, and complex production issues across distributed applications.
- Participate in requirements, design, coding, test automation, debugging, code reviews, and engineering best-practice initiatives.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and support production deployments.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Solution Architects, Security Engineering, internal engineering teams, and external partners.
Requirements
- 2-10 years of experience in software engineering.
- Strong PostgreSQL experience, including advanced database capabilities, production cluster management, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- High proficiency with Unix/Linux platforms and strong working experience with Python, Docker, and Terraform/IAC.
- Strong understanding of software and application architecture, high-performance distributed systems, networking, security, reliability, and scalability.
- Strong DevOps experience, including building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with globally distributed teams.
- Preferred experience with Redis, Kafka, OpenSearch, Linux internals, multi-threading, large-scale production deployments, AWS, MSK, Aurora, and infrastructure technologies across operating systems, networks, databases, servers, and storage.
