Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software applications for medical devices.
- Deliver automated and manual verification against functional and performance requirements.
- Contribute to software architecture, design reviews, technical discussions, and software documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and customer-reported issues.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, systems, quality, product, and clinical teams.
- Deliver reliable software within agreed project timelines and improve development processes, tools, and engineering practices.
- Take ownership of tasks and occasionally lead smaller workstreams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical knowledge.
- Commercial software application development experience.
- Proficiency in C++ and/or Python for application and test software development.
- Understanding of software design, code reviews, debugging, testing, CI/CD principles, and automated build environments.
- Familiarity with GitHub, Bitbucket, Jira, or Confluence.
- Ability to translate customer and product requirements into technical solutions.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- Preferred: 3+ years developing embedded C/C++ software using object-oriented programming.
- Preferred: experience with Jenkins, GitHub workflow actions, cellular module integration, regulated industries, Test-Driven Development, and automated testing methodologies.
