Responsibilities
- Analyze back-end architecture, implement optimizations, and verify system-performance improvements.
- Write, review, and optimize reliable, reusable, scalable, and secure back-end code.
- Design and maintain integration solutions, web applications, APIs, databases, and other platform components.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, front-end developers, technology leaders, and other technical stakeholders.
- Monitor service and database health, troubleshoot complex application and database issues, and support debugging.
- Contribute to unit-test planning, quality-assurance measures, documentation, and best-practice development.
- Support training for digital-platform users and communicate design and implementation details.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of back-end application development or engineering experience.
- Good programming skills in a back-end language such as Java, Python, or Ruby.
- Familiarity with back-end frameworks and moderate understanding of web protocols.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively with technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or at least 3 years of application development or application engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
- Preferred experience includes Java with Spring Boot or a similar framework, shared platform services, clean and documented APIs, and production AI/ML inference operations.
- Preferred experience includes generative AI and computer vision models, prompt/output engineering, model evaluation, cost/latency/accuracy tradeoffs, model serving, caching, batching, monitoring, and security and data-handling considerations.
- Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work without current or future employment-visa sponsorship.
